Your whole farm, finally in one place.

Your paddocks, your cows, and your staff — all on speaking terms. Ask Farmcloud anything about your farm, and get an answer in your own numbers.

That “Hi, Marty” up there is just Farmcloud doing its job.

Every app in Farmcloud reads and writes the exact same farm data, in real time. One shared farm, not six separate ones.

That greeting isn’t hand-written. Every morning, an AI reads across every app on your farm and tells you what actually needs your attention today: a bunker running low, SCC creeping up in the vat, someone on the roster who put in a big week, or anything else it thinks could be important.

Numbers that agree

Plate-meter covers, the mixer wagon, and the day’s diet plan all read off the same figure, every time.

Notes that go everywhere

A lameness diagnosis logged in Hoof shows straight up on that cow’s record in Herd, automatically.

Nothing waits

Margin over feed and rotation balances update same-day, so you can act on them today.

One shared farm. Every tool connected.

Every app reads and writes the exact same farm data in real time. Every one of them is described here as it exists and operates today.

Pasture & Feeding

How they connect: Grazing records the pasture each mob was actually offered, and Feed builds the day’s diet on that figure instead of a target typed in by hand. Pasture and Grazing read every plate-meter reading through the same bulk-density correction, so a cover means the same thing in both. Weather’s 16-day forecast drives the pasture growth estimates the rotation planner works from.

Pasture

Live

Paddock covers, plate-meter recording adjusted for pasture density, growth graphs, fertiliser applications, and 190 kg N/ha cap compliance tracking.

Grazing

Live

Day-by-day paddock allocation, rotation planner balancing round length to seasonal growth and cow intake, and actual pasture allocated per herd.

Feed

Live

Custom blends, silo and bunker inventory tracking, herd diet targets, mixer recipe allocations, feed ordering, and daily diet costing.

Weather

Live

16-day local forecast paired with derived pasture growth and leaf-emergence estimates to forecast upcoming grazing conditions.

Mixer

Mobile

Mobile companion app for the TMR mixer operator (iOS/Android) guiding step-by-step loading and bin-by-bin feedout on the tractor.

Spread

Mobile

GPS tractor tracking and guidance for fertiliser spreading, showing paddock outlines and application rates on the bike or tractor, and logging actual coverage against the plan.

Animals & Breeding

How they connect: Herd publishes per-cow cull, mating, and age scores nightly that Grazing and Feed reference when allocating pasture and supplements across milking mobs.

Herd

Live

Individual cow records, herd management, cull/mating/age scoring, and condition vs production graphs across seasons.

Mated

Live

Heat detection, DIY mating book, live semen straw inventory, submission rates, non-return rates, and conception rate tracking.

Sired

Live

Bull selection, sire comparison across traits, BW/PW breeding values, and semen straw picking for your mating lineup.

Hoof

Live

Lameness and hoof treatment tracking, recovery monitoring, standalone lame-cow flagging, and treatment history.

People & Place

How they connect: A fertiliser plan created in Pasture appears directly as a job in Tasks for whoever spreads it, with paddock outlines and application rates visible in Spread on the farm bike. Located’s GPS timeline automatically logs a shift in Timesheet — start, finish, and where someone actually was — without anyone touching a clock in or out.

Home (Hub)

Live

Central dashboard with live summary cards from every app, team members, farm permissions, and staff leave roster.

Tasks

Live

Farm to-do management and team calendar for vet visits, contractor bookings, and planned farm maintenance.

Timesheet

Live

Staff timesheets, live shift recording timer, pay cycle wage calculation, NZ minimum-wage compliance checks, and worker GPS location history.

Located

Live

Live team map with presence badges, team safety status, and historical GPS timeline scrubber for staff.

Locator

Mobile

Mobile companion app (iOS/Android) that records a staff member’s phone GPS position in the background and feeds it straight into Located.

Mapped

Live

Interactive farm map editor for paddocks, grazeable boundaries, hazards, and infrastructure markers shared across apps.

Because it’s all connected, you can just ask it.

The Question
“Grass is coming away — can I cut back the maize and PKE, and what does it cost me in milk?”
Connected AI Client: Claude Verified MCP Connector
Between 24 August and 13 September 2026, on Hitchcock Farm’s own record:
24 Aug 13 Sep
Maize 4.68 kg DM/cow 1.96 kg DM/cow
PKE (cow shed bunker) 3.71 kg DM/cow 1.64 kg DM/cow
Pasture in the diet 7.8 kg DM/cow 13.8 kg DM/cow
Feed cost per cow per day $5.52 $3.56
Feed cost per kgMS $3.63 $2.38
Milk per cow 1.52 kgMS 1.50 kgMS
Margin over feed $5,322/day $6,210/day

The maize and PKE were cut by more than half, feed cost per kilogram of milk solids fell by more than a third, and milk per cow did not move. About $890 a day more margin over feed.
Which apps had to agree for that answer to exist
Pasture
Paddock covers, condition-corrected, and the growth rate.
Grazing
The pasture each mob was actually offered, day by day.
Feed
The ration, the blends, the cost per cow and per kgMS.
Mixer
What was really loaded and fed out, against what was planned.
Milk record
The response, from the processor’s daily figures.
Data ages at the time of capture, 16 September 2026
  • Milk: to 13 September — 3 days old (processor data lags a day or two).
  • Pasture readings: 1 day old.
  • Grazing allocations, mixer loads, daily diet: same day.
  • Feed’s headline figures: 15 hours old.
Caveats that stay with the numbers
  • Cow numbers changed during the period: 586 milking cows on 24 August, 567 from 2 September. Per-cow figures are the comparable ones; farm totals are not.
  • Lining days up does not prove cause. Weather, stage of lactation and herd changes move milk too. This was Claude’s own stated caveat when generating the summary.
  • The herd is transitioning to autumn calving, so these cows are in late lactation rather than early. Late-lactation cows respond less to supplement than early-lactation cows would, which is part of why the maize and PKE came out with no measurable cost. Spring-calving farmers should not assume the result transfers directly to them.
  • Milk for 14, 15 and 16 September had not arrived at the time of capture.

20 years in the shed. 15 years of software engineering.

Years ago a friend and I tried to get a connected suite of farm apps built commercially. Two hired development teams and a lot of wasted capital later, the project stalled. I put it down and just farmed for a few months, but farming without the apps I’d tried to build was frustrating. The tools I needed were in my head and not in my hands.

So I took on the architecture and development myself. Over the next decade and a half I built Farmcloud system by system to run my 600-cow family farm in the Waikato — always around the farm, never instead of it. Every calculation, database sync, and screen has been refined through years of real-world use. When you use Farmcloud, you’re using software built by someone with skin in the game on both sides: the farm and the code.
